Following his decision to step down as first team assistant manager, Richie Boswarva has released the following statement.

It is with deep regret that I am writing to inform you of my decision to step down from my
role as Assistant Manager at Bootle FC.

I have spent 6 wonderful years at the club in my roles as Youth Team and Reserve Manager, and in my role with Joe for the past 3 years. During this period I have watched the club develop and prosper – not only on the pitch but also commercially and by building a fan base that has been a joy to be part of.

I look back with pride at the role I have played in this process and I have savoured every
minute - not least last season. The team played a brand of football that I feel was the best in
the League, scoring a record number of goals and accruing a record number of points for the club at this level. The player’s the club possesses and can attract is better than at any time I have been involved.

The club is poised to blossom and promotion to the Evo Stik is now more than a realistic proposition. I must be mad to stand down now when everything is in such pristine order but I feel at that this stage of my Managerial / Coaching career it is the right move for me.

I wish Joe and Staffo all the luck in the world and sincerely hope that they can push the team to promotion this season. I would like to thank the Committee and respectfully acknowledge the late Frank Doran for the role he played in allowing me to become part of this fantastic club.

I would like to thank all of the players I have worked with over the years and take special satisfaction in seeing many of the lads I worked with 6 years ago playing football at this level and above, not just at Bootle but at other teams as well.

This will never be the end of my connection with Bootle FC – It will be a special part of me
for ever. I have no plans for life after Bootle and envisage that I will spend many a Saturday
afternoon following the team in its quest for success.

UP THE BUCKS

Richie Boswarva

As stated in an earlier club statement everyone at the club would like to thank Richie for all his work and wishes him all the best in whatever he chooses to do next.
