Below is a message to our special fans originally published in Saturdays programme.

To all our wonderful supporters.

We would like to thank you for your fantastic support in what has been a roller-coaster of a season. Despite the disappointment of two semi-final defeats and a second place finish in the Hallmark Security Premier Division, I'm sure you will all agree there have been more highs than low's.

One of the most distinctive things from our point of view is the unrivalled support we have received from you this season and having you all be a part of our club, supporting the lads home and away has been more satisfying than any victory.

With regards to the football this year, we would like to thank Joe and his backroom team for such an exciting season that has seen us finish in our highest league placing in the North West Counties League, as well as reaching two semi-finals.

There are many games that we could highlight - that include any of the AFC Liverpool games, or the Tranmere game in the Liverpool Senior Cup. However, it was actually a defeat that showed the football club we are.

The Cleethorpes game was unbelievable. The supporters were fantastic, the equally as fantastic, but sadly lady luck wasn't on our side. But what a brilliant day despite the result.

Which brings us finally to the players. The players this season have been on another level and whether you talk about Ryan Jones' save (plus his penalty shoot-out heroics against Tranmere in the Senior Cup); Carl Peers splitting defences; Ryan Cox scoring all those goals or Mikey Ordish or Kieran Haligan down the wings, it is difficult to single out anyone player as they have played very much as a team. The BEST footballing team in the NWCFL.

However, the committee would like to make a special mention to two fantastic servants to the club. They are the legends that are Jamie Hay and Daniel O'Connor. Jamie has this week announced his retirement. We would like to pay a special tribute to Jamie for his time at Bootle FC.

With limited time on the pitch this season, both have shown their unwavering support. We also hope you can all come to support Docker in his testimonial game before the new season starts. Keep an eye on twitter for the date!

Once again, thanks to everyone who continues to make this club the special club it is and we look forward to a nice break before a new season!
