As winners of an England Rugby competition, Gary Street, Head Coach of the Women’s Rugby World Cup winning England team will coach us next week.

The session will take place next Tuesday (9 December) at the usual time of 7:30pm, and all players are encouraged to attend in order to make the most of Gary’s expertise - and to give him a warm Bedians welcome of course!

Gary is a vastly experienced elite coach and has been involved in the England coaching set up since 1992. In 2007 he took over as Head Coach of England Women, and following numerous Six Nations Championship victories and Grand Slams and a runners up place in the 2010 Women’s Rugby World Cup, famously led the England team to victory in this year’s event, beating Canada 21-9 in Paris.

We have Vice Chairman and Coach Ryan Keyes to thank for Gary’s visit, with Ryan entering and winning the chance in a Twitter competition run by @EnglandRugby. Ryan demonstrated the work we do with young volunteers by tweeting:

"@ryan_keyes: “@EnglandRugby #WinStreety @oldbedians involve students as committee members, encouraging them as coaches and in other aspects of club life”

As usual, any new players interested in playing for the club of all ages and abilities are more than welcome – just get in touch on the details below.
