Good causes & charities
A key champion of this was Robbie Stuart, who tragically passed away in November 2008. A club stalwart and also the man who brought Brizzly bear to life for Fans at Bristol RFC for years, it was typical of him that even while battling leukemia he continued his charity work, organising the legendary 2008 Dodge Ball competion amongst othere - raising thousands for CLIC Sargent, a fantastic charity that the Club maintans a strong connection with. http://www.clicsargent.org.uk/Home
The Club continues Robbie's great work, holding annual memorial matches and also many other members of the club and fitness coaches give their time to regularly participate and organise charity fundraising events.
Old Bristolians tackle 24Seven
In early October 2009 two intrepid teams from OB’s challenged themselves to a total of 7 exacting tasks to be completed in just 24 hours, and for that brief 24 hour period they were as confused, tired and dependent on others as many of the children or young adults who have just been told that they have cancer.

Annual Robbie Stuart Memorial Match 2008
Well done to both teams - this memorial match was played in great spirits and entertaining style. Also entertaining was the list of Raffle prizes. Mel B's coffee cups anyone? (no euphemism). But the main thing was raising money, which we did - £2500 for CLIC-Sargent. Thanks and well done to everyone involved.
Fancy Dress Workout...
Weird and wacky costumes were out in force for the first Robbie Stuart fancy dress workout in aid of charity. Organised by Ben Morris, the gruelling challenge was designed to pay tribute to the club's former second team captain Robbie Stuart who lost his battle with leukaemia in November, while helping CLIC Sargent, a charity close to his heart - read more in the full article in the Bristol Evening Post - which also made it into Rugby World!
