After the game last Saturday 22 November, when we entertained Scarborough to a not so entertaining match from a Brods perspective, we participated in a special raffle. The draw was in aid of the Andrew Feather fund. Andrew was a very popular local rugby rugby player and secretary of the Halifax club, who was tragically killed earlier this year. Andrew's pals at the Halifax club have organised a match against a Blackrock XV before the international on 1 March 2015 and the purpose of the fund raising is to help keep the cost down and make the trip affordable. The prize was an authentic British Lions training top used on the 2001 tour of Australia and adorned with Will Greenwood's initials.

We combined the raffle with Halifax who a week earlier had gone round after the Vandals game and we extend our appreciation to our visitors Scarborough who participated in the raffle. The draw was made last night on the 27 November by Andrew's mother. See photo.

The winning ticket was Pink 131. I am sorry to report that the name of Harry Brook and telephone number was written on the back so bad luck for all the others.

I am proud to say we at the Brods raised over £200 towards the trip. Thank you all.

Gordon Feather
