Exciting times ahead at Woodhead, new coaches and players, pitch improvements and facility developments.

The new season is here and with major changes both on and off the field in the off season a new look Old Brodleians first 15 is looking forward to embracing the Yorkshire 1 season with gusto. The Yorkshire merit league has been re-structured and the seconds are in the premier division and the Beavers enter league rugby for the first time with guaranteed fixtures both close and afar.
The junior section continues to grow and with the addition of the girls squads in 3 age groups, Woodhead should carry on being a great place to visit on Sundays.
The pitch has enjoyed a renovation of sand and seed in the hope of creating a more sustainable playing surface if the winter is wet again and improvements will continue to be made to all our playing and training areas throughout this season and future ones.
Railings and advertising boards have been added to the conifer end of the first team pitch and to Beaver park, making it more available for use for senior and junior league and cup games alike. The fitting of new industrial guttering has begun and the containers received a sort out inside to accommodate the new training equipment purchased.
Plans are in place to continue to develop our facilities both inside and out be it improving existing changing and shower arrangements, adding patio doors and paved area to the front of the clubhouse, placing power and water outlets to areas to make our rugby and music festivals easier to manage and generally improving parking and pedestrian areas for all our members and visitors to enhance the Woodhead experience.
All these plans, works and improvements need not only the volunteers that keep the club moving hopefully forwards all the time but also funds to enable plans to become finished projects. This seasons subscriptions have remained the same and can be paid to any finance committee member, online via the payments section of the website or print the attached form and leave in an envelope behind the bar FAO Steve McAvan. Junior subscription will be collected by team managers as usual.
We are always looking for new sponsors whether it be for junior teams, first team players or to advertise around the pitches contact any finance committee member for details. The simplest way to support the club after paying your subs is the 300 club with the added bonus of a chance to win 1 of 5 cash prizes every month, see attached form for details or ask G Taylor how to sign up (also available on the payments section of the website).
Finally keep an eye out for the club events coming up and try to support them as much as possible. The juniors love playing in front of big crowds and the clubhouse atmosphere on Saturday teatime can really make the senior section feel appreciated after a game. Lets all try and keep the momentum moving forward and have not only a great season but a bright future in the making too.
