Sunshine, smiles and singing sets Woodhead alive for a great cause.

9 Acts entertained the masses, the Pimms flowed and the photo booth kept young and old amused as BRODSTOCK finally hit Hipperholme and with a monumental effort from over 50 volunteers after months of planning I don’t think it could of gone much better.
The Brighouse friends of Overgate are over the moon with our level of commitment and support making this easily the biggest fund raiser they’ve staged so far and chomping at the bit for BRODSTOCK 2. The total raised for the Hospice is over £6,000 and still counting so everyone who contributed should be very proud of their effort in supporting a cause so close to so many members and friends of the club.
From a personal point of view there are too many huge contributions to mention them all but Andy, Angie and Jean from the Overgate side of things made all the music, power, gate and raffle stuff seamless. Shed, Sarah and Oggy for putting up with me in the planning stages and showing a true professional approach is essential and worthwhile, Rats and Froggy for doing the running round and making the important things happen. Everyone from the club who helped out in whatever way they did have helped not only earn essential funds during the summer but really set our place in the community as the great family venue and club we all knew we were.
3 Days hard graft setting up, staging and taking down certainly seem worth it now and here’s hoping to bigger and better things next year so watch this space for the date.
Once again a huge thank you to all involved keep an eye out for the photos and check the facebook page to see how the day transpired into one of the best Brodleian events ever.
Working weekend next, August 9th and 10th to get Woodhead looking spick and span for the new season, please help out as much as you can and spread the word as there’s always lots of jobs to get done.
