It is with heavy heart that I have to report that Eddie passed away last night after a long illness . We have missed Eddie over the last few months as he has been unable to attend games .
Eddie was true club man playing at every level and as a member of Eddie's excellent third team in my earliest days at the club I was taught along with many others what it meant to be a member of the Brods and to be part of our great game.
He worked tirelessly as a volunteer taking on numerous roles including selection , secretary and of course he was a great supporter of the club travelling around the north of England . He loved to watch his lads , David , Stephen and Paul play from their early days in the minis through to the seniors and he had a wealth of knowledge about the playing history of the club.
Our thoughts are with Jean, the lads and the whole Hopkinson family at this time.
There will be a minutes silence before this weekends games .

The funeral will be held at Park Crematorium , Elland Wood Bottom at 12.45 on the 11th March 2015 returning to the Brods at 1.30pm .
