kicking session a success
well done to all involved
a big thanks to ollie ackroyed, neil sheard,danny cole, kristian sharples,danny wood and dave stoyles who all gave up their time to take 18 of the junior players and put them through a kicking session. We covered converstions, kick offs,drop goals,kicking for touch and kicking out of hand in open play. the session went really smoothly and from what i saw the players had plenty to take on board.
hopefully we will set up another session for a different aspect of the game in the near future.

thanks for organising this and a really BIG thank you is due to senior players who gave willingly of their free time to coach a bunch of mini / junior players
Guys, it's not only skills transfer that matters but it's the buzz that the lads get from feeling really valued by the club. Our lads are U11s so kicking is a new thing to them so some struggled but the patience you all showed was fantastic. My own son isn't natural kicker but he told me afterwards that one player (no names) explained to him how he also struggled when he was 10 with kicking then gave him some simple tips to work on, best bit of the session he said.
Also in car home he said "you know dad I'd hope to be good enough one day to play for the first team" - isn't that what we want every junior player at Brods to feel?
I think so & it's what makes our club great.
I'm sure our kids will look forward to the next session Gary.
