Saturday 3rd September the Old Cats play host to Bec Old Boys in the first fixture of the season. This year is going to be a big year for the club and we intend to kick the season off in style…

Not only will there be a trial game involving the whole of the Senior Squad, it will also be a family day at the club. From 1pm the bar will be open, with activities for the whole family from a bouncy castle and a BBQ to Rugby related activities laid on by the minis.

From the senior men we’re after a couple of hours from you in the morning to set the tone for the season ahead, we believe that we need one session with all members of the senior club. This session will be focussed towards what we intend to do as a senior section for the season ahead, there will minimal contact, but intensity and focus is imperative.

This day is absolutely vital to what we plan to do this season, your attendance and support will be most appreciated. Brief itinerary of the afternoon is as follows:

09.30 Meet at club followed by:
Season briefing session –Talking through set play moves and calls, and certain team strategies.

10.45 Morning training session – Actively working on the set plays and strategies.

12.30 Interval break.

12.35 Team run throughs – Working as a team to implement the set plays and strategies we have worked on in the morning session

13.20 Break for a light lunch and refreshments supplied by the club

14.00 Reconvene for game and warm up

15.00 Trial game kicks off

17.00 Showers, beer and bbq

This day gives us a great opputunity to lay the foundations for the season ahead, we must show hunger, desire and that infamous Old Cats never say die attitude. We need to set the bench mark for the season on and off the field - a good social after the game only ever matches the quality of the rugby during the game. We work hard together in preparation, put our bodies on the line during the games to enjoy the lash after the game.

DO YOU WANT IT?
