Cents secured the Glos two North title this weekend with a confident display against a Painswick United side who made a determined fight back in the second half of their match. Also with Cirencester thirds losing at home this wekend against Brockworth Cents would have been assured the league title if they had lost.
Playing down the slope in the first half Cents led 0-22 at half time through tries by Capt.Kieran Blackmore,Luc Blackford(2) and Simon Price.Scott Anderson converted one of the tries to complete Cents scoring in the first half.Cents tries came about through some neat interpassing that had Painswick chasing shadows and with a little bit more accuracy with other handling movements they should have had a few more but had to settle for what they got.
With Cents well on top it did not look as though they would lose this mach, but to their credit Painswick came back at the away side and had them on the back foot for the first quarter of an hour of the second half.During this period of pressure Painswick had a converted try to show for their efforts and had Cents defending well.
However once Cents scored their next try the away side went on to secure a good victory away from home.Cents scored a further three tries in the second half through Michael Hagan,Ben Preece and Mark Fritchley.Scott Anderson converted two of the tries to end the cents scoring.Painswick completed their scoring with a well worked try that had the Cents defence all over the place, this try was not converted.

Winning the Glos Two North Title has been a squad effort with onver 50 players being used at one time or another,so thanks goes to everybody who played in the matches to achieve promotion. The Seconds can now go on to give a good account of themselves in the Combination Junior cup twhich commences this tuesday at Spartans,Spartans will not be easy as they are a side with a cup tradition and are known as a team that never gives up.
