The club will need to match the other £10,000 which will give us a huge £20,000 to upgrade our social space at the clubhouse in Old Fosse Road. Many of you completed the facility survey and this will help determine how we design and refurbish our clubhouse, with a sports bar feel leading the way on the overall theme for our social space. With initial plans being discussed to replace the flooring, replace our outdated and poor furniture, new screen and projector and WIFI installation it all adds up to being an exciting summer at the clubhouse.
There is no restriction on how we spend the money, but it must be spent to improve the social spaces of our rugby club. In the coming weeks we will be working with the RFU who will help us prepare to deliver a refurbishment project of £10,000 plus. This is a real boost for the club and we have worked really hard this season to secure this funding. Its ultimate aim is to recruit and retain players and their families particularly in the 16-24 year age group, as well as providing good facilities and social spaces for the Rugby World Cup in 2015.
If you wish to more about our award and want to get on board in any way, such as sponsorship of our £10000 contribution or register your interest as a contractor then please get in touch. (see attached newsletter to see who else has been selected onto the social spaces program in Somerset)
