OE U15s secure another maximum 5 points in the SUPER 8's away at Old Colfeians
A depleted Old Colfeians 15 gave us something to think about, especially in the first 10 mins! OES got it together to reply with 27 unanswered points.
Firstly, our thanks to Old Colfeians for a great game and excellent hospitality as always.
OEs started slowly and Old Colfeians came out fighting hard with a two converted tries within 8 minutes. Ouch! The three week ice break had obviously done us no favours and we would need to work hard to keep our composure and get back into the swing of things.
In the remainder of the first half the match was evenly balanced. OEs scored in the 21st minute through great support play by Joseph, and threatened the Colfes line during the last few minutes but without success.
Half Time : 14 ; 5
The second half was a different story, although Old Colfeians often looked threatening and never ever gave up. But early on, OEs scored through Max, converted by Chris, (14 ; 12) and then took the lead with a Mitchel try a few minutes later. (14; 17).
Two more tries through the ever-impressive Piers and the ever-popular Richie secured the OES victory.
