Elthamians have made three changes for tomorrow’s National One clash at Cambridge.

In the forwards, Stef North starts in the front row in place of Kieron Scutt, who is rested after being ever-present in all 11 league games so far this season, while at halfback Ollie Claxton returns at scrum-half with Rhys Morgan reverting to the bench. Alex Brown comes in on the wing in place of Kai Little who was injured in last Saturday’s draw at home to Ampthill.

There’s also a return for experienced duo Lewis Brown and Chris Surman among the replacements.

Tenth placed Cambridge have won five of their 11 league games so far this season but are unbeaten in their last two, including last Saturday's excellent 25-14 victory at in-form Rotherham.

It’s safe to say games between the two sides are never dull. In the corresponding fixture at Grantchester Road last season, Elthamians won an eight-try thriller by the narrowest of margins, 29-28, thanks to a hat-trick of tries from Dom Lespierre.

But OEs were forced to withstand a storming Cambridge fightback having been 26-7 ahead on the hour mark after picking up two yellow cards in quick succession.

Elthamians full-back Charlie Dockery who opened his try-scoring account for the club in last Saturday’s 13-13 draw with Ampthill, believes the squad are in good shape heading into tomorrow's clash.

“We’re very confident within the squad,” he said, “we just need to remain consistent and weed out the schoolboy errors. Cambridge will be a game decided at the gainline so we need to make sure we win that.”

Cambridge v Old Elthamians kicks off at 2pm tomorrow.
The Extra 1st XV game at Cambridge 2nds kicks off at 1.30pm.
