Kent Under-20s look to make history on Sunday when they take on Durham in the semi-finals of the National U20 County Championship.

Will Luxford, Huw Roberts (pictured) and Dylan Sutton have been integral members of the unbeaten county side this season, helping Kent to reach the last four of the competition after victories over Essex and Surrey and a draw with Hertfordshire to top their group. This was followed by a last gasp 27-25 win over Gloucestershire in the quarter-final a fortnight ago.

Victory at Cranbrook RFC on Sunday (kick-off 2pm) would see Kent book their place in the final at Twickenham on May 6th against the winners of the other semi between eight-time winners and defending champions Yorkshire and Hampshire.

The OEs trio would have been a quintet but influential lock Charlie Self misses the game through injury after damaging ankle ligaments in the warm-up before the Gloucester victory, and full-back Bryan Hotston is away on holiday.

It’s been a memorable last few weeks for Roberts and Luxford, who made their first team debuts for the club after a string of impressive performances in the Extra 1st XV this season.

Roberts scored on his first start on the left wing in the 97-7 thrashing of Exmouth at the end of March and has gone on to cross the whitewash four times in three appearances so far, while Luxford came on as a second half substitute at Barnes the following week.

The OEs scrum-half only graduated from Elthamians’ Academy at the end of last season, but his outstanding form for the county has seen him called up this week to the London and South East Division Under-20s squad alongside Charlie Self.
