Huw Roberts has been appointed captain of the Kent Under-20 side ahead of their National Under-20 County Championship opener this Sunday.

The former Dulwich College pupil (pictured), who broke into OEs 1st team in the second half of last season and played a prominent role in their thrilling charge to promotion from National Two South, leads a Kent side that features six Elthamians in the matchday squad to play Hertfordshire at Cranbrook RFC.

Roberts is joined by hooker Tom Petty, lock Charlie Dee, scrum-half Will Luxford and centre Tom Adamson in the starting line-up with winger Jordan Thomas on the bench.
The super six have all featured in the club’s Extra 1st XV in the last 12 months and are set to play prominent roles in Kent’s County Championship campaign.

The Kent squad, who play in the top tier of the competition, have been consistently successful, reaching every quarter-final and three semi-finals in the last 10 years. They warmed up for this season’s competition with an impressive 74-10 thrashing of Middlesex in January.
