Oldfield's Sean Campbell leaves for Tanzania today, 9 February, for eleven weeks, where he will be working on various projects as a volunteer for Village Africa.
Village Africa is a charity working in Tanzania, East Africa and is based in a village called Yamba, high in the West Usambara Mountains in the Tanga region. Locally, they are known by the Kisambaa name Vyaadahikana, which means, "It is possible".
The charities aim is to alleviate poverty and the projects involve carrying out work on schools, houses and other areas of need. Sean will be working alongside the charity, which works all year round, carrying out a range of voluntary work from building, teaching and sports coaching.
We wish Sean a safe journey and all the very best for such an admirable cause and whilst the Red Army will sorely miss him, he hope’s that Oldfield will enjoy "Continued success in this season."
Good luck Sean and don’t forget to keep us updated with all the fantastic work you will be doing.
