They started at scrum half and inside centre respectively in the Bill Beaumont Cup opener at Bridgewater, which saw them/Somerset, run out as 33 - 20 winners over Devon.
I am proud to say that we had 7 other Oldfield players invited to the Somerset RFU training squad, but due to a variety of injuries and knocks sustained toward the end of last season, they were unable to participate at this time. Recognition like this at Senior Somerset level is fantastic and a testament to the quality of players we can now muster on the pitch at Oldfield RFC.
The next Somerset RFU 1st XV fixture is on 19 May 2012 away to Kent RFU.
Well-done boys.
