For a change, it was a case of rain, rain, and a bit more rain, everyone in its spitting, etc.
But we did get some cricket:
The squad was: Adam Brass, Elizabeth Tolley, Sam Howbrook, Will Mcintyre, Joe Mcintyre, Shay Johnson, Conor Johnson, Jacob Donnelly and Ethan Lumb.
The one complete game we played ( in the rain ) ended up being a comfortable performance against the hosts, we took seven wickets and bowled some excellent lines backed up with some great fielding and were always in front in the match.
Our batting was equally as impressive as our constant 'nagging' about not giving your wicket away is slowly sinking in. In fact we lost only one wicket in the innings and that was down to a run-out. Several players hit fours and all in all it was a good effort.
The second game was a mix and match affair as our planned opponents had no full team, but it was still good fun though by now my soaking feet ( should of worn the famous wellies again )had me on the verge of tears.
All in all a great effort and we have some promising individuals within the ranks, all the parents enjoyed the cold wet rain but will agree it was worth it.
No man of the match awards were awarded as it would have been to close to call.
See you all on Friday ( weather permitting )
