This week 60 seconds goes international as we catch up with Old Gs token Kiwi, Marcus D’Cunha.

Marcus 'Cussy' played for the club for a number of years alongside his brother Dan. He was a prominent part of the squad that gained promotion to the London leagues a few years back. Back in the day he featured regularly at full back and was known for his game understanding, quick feet and searing breaks – regularly finishing top of the try scoring charts over a number of seasons (despite what Hodgey claims). However, even with this success, and somehow still being in his 30s, Marcus has the mentality of a 60 year old grumpy miserable grandad.

He was cheered up slightly when he married wife Nat. Earlier this year he upped sticks and moved to Wellington, NZ with her and daughter Poppy. Missed by many, he still follows all the clubs results closely, and despite the time difference found a moment to spare us 60 secs of his time....

Name: Marcus D'Cunha

Age: 37

Previous clubs: Vigo, Westcombe Park, Gravesend

Favourite film
A Time to Kill

Favourite food
Anything without veg and with a lot of spice. Love a good brunch too!

Who is your hero/idol?

Christian Cullen

Favourite rugby moment
Been lucky enough to win a few trophies over the years but the Invincibles season when we won a strong Kent 2 without losing a game was a real highlight. Was a fantastic season on the pitch and off. The nights out were pretty epic too.

Mention also for the first 10s tournament we won in Antwerp. Some of the best rugby Old G's have played and all done with no sleep and many times over the drink drive limit!!

Being able to play alongside my brother Dan for a number of years was special too.

Person you would most like to be at Old Gs and why:

Coomber. My excel skills aren't great and he's an excel geek.

Person you would least like to be at Old Gs and why

Chris Bassett. Fat, sweaty, ginge. Nuff said really

Best player you have played with
So lucky with the guys I've played alongside over the years. For sheer consistency I'll have to go with Richard Oxtoby. Could have gone a long way if he wasn't a space cadet.

Professional rugby player you would compare yourself to
Cross between Jason Robinson and Christian Cullen (Editor: and we though Coomber was arrogant…)

If you were not a rugby player what would you be?
Able to travel more during the season. And able to wake up without aching.

Interesting fact about you that no one at Old Gs know
I'm a dab hand with a badminton racket and have started playing again at a good level now I'm in New Zealand.

Which actor/actress would play you in a film about your life?
Kit Harrington? I'm a bit grumpy like Jon Snow and he seems to have that down to a tee.

(if you had to) Which 3 Old Gs players would you take to a remote desert island (a bit like NZ) with you…and why?
Got a similar sense of humour to Loz and he's pretty amusing most of the time. Holdy would be good for the rugby chat as I assume we have Sky on the remote desert island? (Editor: BT Sport actually) and Coomber would be good for breaking coconuts with his head.

Cheers Cussy and best of luck with the new life in New Zealand - see you on the Lions Tour 2017....
