Old G's Work Party - Sunday 11th December
Invitation to all old G's to help decorate the club.
I have been asked to contact everyone with regards to a works party at our beloved club on Sunday the 11th December (starting at 11am).
It will all be work that needs doing inside so no need for wellies. There are a few things that need doing in the gym and in the changing rooms, and Jim Day has kindly offered to bring all the tools required to do the job, he merely needs the man power.
So if you can spare an hour or even a few on the 11th at 11am please do so, as the club doesn’t look gorgeous all by itself...

I could start this comment by calling you all the names under the sun, but instead, I would like to explain to you what I think a true Old Gravesendian, is. He is a person who, not only comes down to the club to play rugby or other sports, has a couple of beers, and simply forgets about the club till next week. He is a personwho, supports the club in so many other ways. On the very rare occasion that you are asked to contribute to the future of the club, it would be great if true members of the club , rose to the challenge. The organised works part for Sunday 11th, marked a new low in commitment. The only person who managed to turn up, was Gollom. Both of us did what we could, until 2pm, when we departed to the bar for a well deserved pint. In recent months, I have spent countless hours, tidying up around the grounds, working on the roof, trying to prevent water entering the club, as well as finishing off your weight training room. I have also spet thousands of pounds of my own money over recent years, proping up this sinking ship. I had put aside some additional funds to revamp the changing rooms and if that went well, my next project would have been to revamp the main hall. Can anybody give me a reasn why I should invest my time and effort in trying to safe- guard Old Gravesendians future? The time has come for you to stand up and be counted!, as the future of theis great club is in jeopardy. Jim Day
