Old Gs continue their quest for promotion from Kent 2 on Saturday with a tough away fixture at Footscray. Despite having not played their opposition for a couple of seasons the games between the two sides are traditionally competitive affairs and Old Gs will need to be on top form bring home a victory from South East London.
Despite an excellent performance last week against RBS there are a few changes to the matchday squad due to injury and unavailability.
There is however a welcome return in the front row for prop Brett Buckingham after over a month out injured. He is joined up front by hooker Matt Johnson and tighthead Noel Hartley. The ever present durable 2nd row pairing of Andy Morris and skipper Frazer Barnes remains in place. Chris Johnson replaces Mat Coomber in the back row where he is accompanied by livewire Chris Daniels and powerful number 8 Jack Nash.
The experienced Mike Hodge replaces Dave Boyer at scrum half, where he is joined in the half backs by Matt Holdstock in the 10 shirt. Regular centre chums Ricky Harding and Matt Thompson, so impressive against RBS, are again present in midfield. Ryan Lockyer comes into the side to start on the wing, where he is joined by the power of Mat Wilson and the sassy guile of full back Richard Parish.
The replacements are Matt Pink, Steve Hurdle and James Hood.
Kick off at Footscray is 2pm.
