Old Gravesendians tackle their first fixture in five weeks when they welcome Dartford Valley to Bronte View on Saturday. After a frustrating period of postponements and walkovers the Old Boys are chomping at the bit to return to competitive action, but know they will have to be on top form and produce a worthwhile performance to topple a visiting side who have notched up some good wins of their own this season.
The victory away at Dartford Valley earlier in the season, whilst relatively comprehensive, will have little bearing on this fixture as Old Gs look to kick start their promotion campaign after the enforced winter break.
In regards to selection Brett Buckingham, Matt Johnson and super Noel Hartley form the front row. Frazer Barnes and Andy Morris will be setting up a romantic candlelit meal for 2 as the old married couple in the second row, with Ollie Goodchild, Chris Daniels and the barrelling Jack Nash looking to do some damage in the back row.
Chris Bassett and Matt Holdstock are the half backs with the ever present Ricky Harding and Matt Thompson cutting shapes in the centres. The back 3 sees the power of Matt Wilson, the pace and guile of Ryan Lockyer and the non stop energy of Chris Johnson.
There is experience and skill in abundance amongst the replacements in the form of wise campaigners Paul Mitchell and Mat Coomber, and the sassy gas of leading try scorer James Hood.
Kick off is at 2:30pm and all support is welcome.
Both 6 nations matches are also being shown live on the big screen in the clubhouse so come down to the club for a cracking combination of Old Gs and International rugby!
