10 weeks after finishing the last campaign with a memorable win over the champions which ultimately left the club agonisingly short of promotion the boys have returned for pre-season training.

There were plenty of familiar faces and a few new ones. Some had summered well, others clearly made sure they will gain the full benefit that comes with 9 weeks of fitness! All were clearly eager to learn from the new Director of Rugby, Martin Whitcombe - undoubtably a fantastic aquisition this season. His experience will be invaluable; however, the first session of hill running soon set the standard. Of the 25 present, 21 completed the session tired but non the worse for wear. 3 took a moment to "gather their thoughts" and 1 - who is seemingly better at writing about these things than participating - is believed to have enjoyed a brief snooze midway through the drills(reports he fainted are at this point unfounded!) All were able to complete the evening though and without doubt it was good to be back, finishing with a beer in the Stansfield Arms.

It was also announced that Prop, Chris Blackhall (pictured) is the club's new captain and he'll be assisted new Vice Captain, Centre, Adam Weaving.

Training Sessions are at 7pm every Monday and Thursday evening. ALL are welcome to attend and the club would be delighted to see some new faces as well.
