Oldham Boro Football Club

Today's NWCFL AGM has seen the introduction of 3 new sides in to the First Division for 2013/14. Oldham will face trips to 1874 Northwich, Hanley Town and Widnes Vikings next season. In the draw for the NWCFL Challenge Cup first round, Oldham came out of the hat at home to local rivals Chadderton. The tie will be played at Alder Street on Saturday 5th October and should Boro get through, they will host Ashton Athletic on Saturday 26th October in the second round. Talking of second rounds, in the First Division Trophy draw Oldham received a bye into the second round and will face Ashton Town at home on Saturday 23rd November. Oldham Boro was formed in October 2009 and was originally based at the old Oldham Town Ground, Whitebank. The ground was subsequently taken over by Oldham Rugby League Club. After two turbulent years of ground sharing with the rugby side, the Oldham Boro committee thought it would be in their best interests to find a new temporary home. This was done with the intention of trying every avenue available with the help of Oldham Council to source a new ground.
