It is approximately 10 years since the previous meeting was held with all the County FA's and it is part of the League's Development Plan to forge closer links and improve working relationships with them.
With that in mind, following a recent meeting with League representatives and the Liverpool County FA, the meeting with all County FA’s was arranged for last week, with items for discussion including the following points: Affiliations, Discipline, Insurance, Referee Training and County Cup Competitions.
Dave Tomlinson, Alan Farnworth, John Parrington, Geoff Wilkinson and John Deal attended the meeting on behalf of the NWCFL, and while unfortunately not all of the County FA's in our area were able to be represented, those that were able to attend were all responsive to the points raised.
David Pugh, Chief Executive Officer of Liverpool County FA said: “It (the meeting) does show that the League is forging ahead in trying to voice their opinions on issues which may impact everyone”.
League Secretary John Deal said: “From the League's point of view, during the meeting we were given clarification over Club Affiliations and Disciplinary Procedures, which has now given us a clearer understanding of the processes involved.
“We have also agreed we would invite representation from the County FA's to our Pre-Season Regional Meetings, and include the Chief Executives on our distribution lists for Management Committee minutes etc.
“The County FA's agreed they would take on board our comments on insurance, referee training (particularly pitch inspections) and would try to standardise dates for the early rounds of their Senior Cup Competitions, which would help the League with fixture planning.
“All who attended agreed that it was a worthwhile exercise, and it was agreed at the meeting that the group would arrange to meet twice a year.”
