Old Leamingtonians RFC Colts v Earlsdon RFC Colts
OLs Colts canter to home victory ....
The tone for this game was set from the get go when Morgan Fox plucks the kick off out of the September blue sky with aplomb and sets up the first maul of the game - several phases later and with only a few minutes on the clock Archie Semple scampers over for the first score , Will slots the conversion . 7-0 to OLs . OLs maintain the upper hand and Will Davies steps up for a penalty 40 yards out and strokes it straight between the posts , 10-0 . Moments later there is a stolen Earsldon lineout and a quality backs move with a timely pass from Jack Edwards sees Fin score in the corner , 15-0 . half way through the half Ed Gray leaps and collects another lineout , simple hands beat the Earsldon defence and Archie scores his second in the corner , 20-0 . The half ends with a great steal in the tackle from Ed Gray and the ball is shipped out to Fin for him to score his second , Will puts the conversion over and its 27-0 at the end of the first half .
The coaches ring the changes but with no loss of quality as the squad shapes up nicely with plenty of pace on offer . Early on Jack Edwards makes a fine break and puts Archie over for his hat trick , 34-0 . shortly afterwards Alex Evans scores in the corner to make it 41-0 . The OLs pack continue to provide the backs with quality ball and another super backs move allows Alaric Haynes to burst through and score after tidy pop pass from Jake Pettifer , 46-0 . Earlsdon , to their credit , never back off and force two penalties of their own which are duly converted , 46-6 . However its OLs day and with further tries from Jack Edwards and Alaric Haynes, Earlsdon request to stop the game 20 minutes early as OLs lead by more than 50 points, the final score closes at 58-6 .
A great start to the season - well done lads .
