Super Seconds Wallop Walton

Firsts Falter Against Whixley

For only the third time this season both teams completed a game on the same day. The 1sts lost a low scoring match against Whixley at The Crag, but the 2nds won by 99 runs at Walton.

Skip Tim Carter was the shining light in a loss at home to Whixley. 5 wickets and 40 odd runs were almost Bothamesque but on a Headingley test weekend he couldn't quite lead the Leos to a Beefy type win.

The 2nds desperately needed a win against joint second bottom Walton. The 5 starters got us off to a great start and 207 was too much for Walton as we won by 99 runs.Cailum,Beans and Raj were major contributors with the bat and Joe,Cailum and the dependable Dicko bowled us to a brilliant win.The rain was close at the end,so it was fortunate that the Wetherby League now start all games at 1.30 pm.

Shame to miss out on the half volley that you have served up JP.

Second team games starting at 1.30? I think that you must have that one wrong or else the skipper wouldn't keep turning up at 1.45!

You have always played the half volley very well Steve. And you haven't lost the art of smacking it through the covers !! Nice shot
