Finger Pointing,Blame and Excuses After Humiliating Whitewash

The dust is settling on a disastrous Ashes series down under.Once the dust is fully settled,it can't be brushed under the carpet. This debacle goes down as one of,it not the worst,England cricket tours ever.Who is to blame, where did it go wrong and what next ?

The Coach

Andy Flower has to take some blame for this mess. However,he will stay as test coach for another year or two. It's a big test of his managerial skills, but there seems to be an air of suffocation and over professionalism within this set up. They are seemingly just over serious and over thinking the whole thing.Flower needs to go away and change the way we play and the environment in which we play in.It's unfair to say he should follow Darren Lehmann's mantra, but we need to play with more freedom and enjoyment.

The Captain

I have said this from day one so not speaking in hindsight,Alistair Cook is not an England captain. He is rigid, lacks toughness and just doesn't have a captain's cricketing brain. He is one dimensional and doesn't think out of the box. There is nothing wrong with that. Some people just aren't natural captains. We even see it at our level...... Don't ask me who should captain though in his place. There isn't anyone in this squad like a Vaughan or Hussein who have a tactical brain but also a toughness and ruthlessness to go with it.Cook will probably stay as captain but is on borrowed time.
