Old Newtonians claim Midlands 4 East (south) title 2011/12
On a day that saw over 200 supporters pack the touchline Old Newtonians claimed a draw with the last kick of the game to be crowned champions of Midlands 4 East (south) for the 2011/12 season.
With just seconds remaining on the clock Paul McNeil calmly slotted a penalty in front of the post to secure a 13 all draw to leave Newts top of the pile following two earlier trys from winger Adam Coates.
We must take our hats of to Mens Own who have also had a fantastic season and we still be promoted as runners up to Midlands 3 next season.
Don't forget that we still have th Leicestershire Shield final to play this Sunday against Ashby at Jimmies RFC (kick off 14:30).
