Playing down the hill in the first half the ON’s got off to a dream start with a try in the first 5 minutes scored by Ella Halcrow. Pressure from the backs and forwards was making life difficult for the 12 Jimmies players and their handling mistakes gave opportunities. Ella used her pace and outflanked the defence to open the scoring. Not long after and Ella was sprinting down the other wing for her second of the day within 10 minutes. The scrum was dominant turning over Jimmies ball as well as winning our own and creating a great platform. Some great pressure from the forwards with good driving play saw Ellie Bradford cross the line for her first try for the U18’s. Towards the end of the first half Gina Strausa ran a great straight line through the defence and dot down under the posts. Half time 22 – 0.
The second half saw Jimmies fight back with some strong running and increased pressure, they managed three tries but the result was never in doubt. Ella rounded off her afternoon with another break from inside her 22 after some good defence forced the turnover which Steph Warlow passed to Ella to sprint home. Steph got her second conversion of the afternoon and the game was won
Final result 29 – 15. Well played.
