Fantastic chance to raise some funds for the Benevolent Fund to continue the great work it does

ON’s Extreme Abseil
The ON’s Chairman’s Challenge has taken us to all parts of the UK, to play rugby, to climb mountains, and to take on routes used on SAS selection. Well, we have a worthy challenge on our own doorstep - the highest permanent abseil structure in the world - the National Lift Tower (formerly the Express Lift Tower). What’s more, you don’t need to be super fit, you don’t need to lose weight (weight limit 136kg), and you don’t need to buy any special kit or pay for accommodation - you just need to be at least 14 years old, tell us you’re in and pay the deposit.
The plan is for the lift tower to be ours for the day (subject to us hitting minimum numbers) after the end of the rugby season (June is most likely month).
Who/What for: It’s a Chairman’s Challenge so it’s to find out what you are made of and to raise money for ONRFC Benevolent Fund (registered charity 1144468). In the past we’ve supported campaigns including #BacZac, families requiring assistance, injured players, special needs children, local schools and ONRFC physiotherapy. There are higher profile charities out there but it’s great to help people closer to home. That said, once you’ve hit the ON’s sponsorship target of £250 (£200 for 14yrs to 18yrs) you can split any additional sponsorship with a charity of your choice.
Cost: The entrance fee for the abseil is £100, a £25 deposit secures your place and the balance is not needed until after the New Year. *If you get sponsored £250 or more (to ONRFC Benevolent Fund) you can get your abseil money back (14yrs to 18yrs need to attain £200 sponsorship for abseil cost refund). * Subject to confirmation/T&Cs.
Are you tough enough? Some of the lads ‘n’ lasses from CC2017 have already signed up, so, are you up for the challenge?
If you want to take part then please email me ASAP at andyt@regenworld.com - places will be limited.
