The Third XV I guess are the first “social” side within the club, however that is not to say we aren’t fiercely competitive and are very serious about our rugby.

As the First XV have scaled the rugby hierarchy this has had a positive effect all the way through the club and the professional standards set at the top of the club filter to all levels, this in turn has resulted in us having a very consistent player base to pick from and excellent results have followed.

In 2011-12 we gained promotion from the EMRU Directors Merit League and now are in the IPA league where we have a very strong series of opposition, including many Club 2nd teams. Last season we have also had a very successful time in terms of “friendly” victories beating some very strong teams including local rivals BBOB and Wellingborough.

We also have fun off the pitch as a team. Last season we raised over £600 as part of the Movember campaign and all had a laugh at each other along the way. We also held our Christmas Party where the theme of “bright and tight” resulted in much hilarity.

We are often at home on the same weekends as the First XV so any continued support on match days is much appreciated.
