East Midlands U18 girls beat North Mids in a close encounter
The final play of the game won the game for East Mids, with all the points scored by On's players.
It was a fine sunny day at Wellingborough for this second game of the season for East Mids girls. North Mids had won their previous 2 games, while East Mids had been beaten by Staffordshire.
East Mids started well with good territory and posession for the first 10 minutes, unfortunately no score came and North mids broke away from their own 22 to score.
Ruth Appleby from ON's received a pass from a penalty and crashed over for the first East Mids score. back came North Mids with another try half time loosing 12 - 5.
The second half saw tries swapped with Ella from ON's scoring in the corner and North Mids coming back again loosing 19 -10.
It was time for some sustained attacking from East Mids with Lucy Juffkins getting the first of her 2 tries from a quick tap penalty and with the opposition not back 10 kept running to score under the posts 19- 17. Steph Warlow converted.
More pressure and a good snipe round the side of the ruck for the final score from Lucy and a great win.
