Code of Conduct

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PLAYERS,
OFFICIALS & CLUB MEMBERS

•The club exists to provide opportunities to play the game of rugby football. At all times you should do your utmost to ensure that this occurs. Never cancel a game unless it is absolutely avoidable and ensure that your opponents are informed as early as possible.

•Your club should provide opportunities for anyone to participate in the game regardless of age, ethnicity, disability or religious conviction. Participation does not necessarily mean playing the game – other opportunities exist to involve people in the game.

•Your club is an ambassador for the game of rugby football. Ensure that all members of the club are aware of this and ask them to conduct themselves at all times in an appropriate manner.

•Treat your opposition and match officials with the respect that they deserve. They are the guests of your club.

•Do not tolerate obscene language or offensive behaviour directed at match officials or players. Make it clear to any perpetrators that this is totally unacceptable.

•Do not allow anyone, other than those permitted in the regulations, to encroach on to the field of play.

•Ensure that you, and your players, are aware of the regulations pertaining to particular games that are being played.

•Ensure that pitches are maintained to the highest standard regardless of the level of game being played and that both pitches and changing facilities meet health and safety standards.

•Ensure that first aid facilities are available to everyone connected with a game, regardless of the level of game being played, and that emergency medical advice can be summoned in a timely manner should it be required.
