OMT RFC 54 pts – Verulamians RFC 17 pts

Last League Game Saturday 14th April 3pm Kick Off

“ OMT RFC 54 pts – Verulamians RFC 17 pts

On perfect manicured Public School grounds, where money provides all, Vees came up against a very well drilled side with some outstanding swift runners, who were most apt at slinging it wide and exposing young willing but inexperienced Vee players.
Suffice to say OMTs had won the match by half time with the score at 27 – 10, but Vees youngsters combined well on occasions to enable Ben Russell to seize the opportunity and split OMT’s defence to score under the posts. This was converted by Alex Ricci and he scored a long angled penalty to keep Vees just within reach.
However, after the break OMTs continued their relentless waves of running pressure and eased themselves to their 54 – 17 victory, which helped assure them of a position in London NW3 next season. All the Vees under 20 players acquitted themselves magnificently and this can only auger well for the future. Joe Breeze and Jake and Joe Lawrence leading the way, James Ryan, Elliott Poulain and the ever fearless Thomas Shenton showed a tireless tenacity and contributed to a well – worked goal for player/ coach Sam Perry with ten minutes to play.
Verulamians entertain high – riding Datchworth at Cotlandswick this coming Saturday for their last League match of this season. KO is 3 pm. “
