This year’s Captain and last year’s Player’s Player of the Season has been picked by Wheats President Adam Mason as his sponsorship choice for this coming season. ‘Mase’ who is an ex-player, Captain, Vice-Chairman, Chairman, Clubman of the year and now President has kindly offered to support the club and chose Liam to represent his chosen charity on and off the pitch. Trigeminal Neuralgia Association UK (TNA UK) is Europe’s first Trigeminal Neuralgia Charity and Mase has chosen this platform to raise awareness of the condition.

Trigeminal Neuralgia is an extremely severe facial pain that tends to come and go unpredictably in sudden shock-like attacks. The pain is normally triggered, for example by light touch, and is described as stabbing, shooting, excruciating or burning. It usually lasts for a few seconds but there can be many bursts of pain in quick succession.

TNA UK provide information, support and encouragement to those who suffer this excruciatingly painful condition. Our aim is to raise awareness of TN within the medical community and the general public at large. As a registered charity, TNA UK is entirely dependent on donations and annual membership fees in order to continue its work. We receive no funding whatsoever from central Government or corporate organisations.

Mase said "I’m happy to have the opportunity to sponsor Liam who has been an outstanding servant to the Club for a number of years now. A rare breed of prop who fuses old-school, powerful scrummaging with modern day carrying and deft hands. Liam will have the TNA UK logo on his shorts which will raise much needed awareness of the condition and in addition to sponsorship I will be donating money to the charity for every try Liam scores this season – and I hope it’s a lot!"
