Oxfordshire Intermediate Cup 2nd Round

Old Woodstock Town Reserves 0 v 3 Thame Utd

This game started off with two evenly matched sides. The first half was a battle in the middle of the park with either goal keeper not being tested, it was not until the18th minute when Old Woodstock Town broke through and the Thame Utd goal keeper came out to retrieve the ball but could not stop and hand ball was given against him. Old Woodstock took the free kick but wasted the chance to take the lead. It was then Thame Utds time to waste a chance with good play in the middle of the park they wasted the chance. In the 29th minute of the first half Old Woodstock Town were given a free kick on the edge of the box this again was wasted. In the 41st minute of the game Thame Utd had a great chance to take the lead with a shot from Josh Green going just wide with the keeper left flat footed.

Half Time 0-0

With the second half less then ten minutes old Thame Utd’s Josh Green was played through on goal but the Old Woodstock Town keeper stood his ground and made a great save. Old Woodstock Town still seemed to be in the dressing room, when Thame Utd Broke through and Josh Green this time made no mistake 0-1.
This seemed to wake Thame Utd up and they took the game to Old Woodstock Town and it seemed to be one way, but Old Woodstock Town were still in the game. Until the 30th minute when Thame Utd won a corner, the corner was played into the box and all the Old Woodstock players just stood waiting for someone else to do something the only one to move was Thame Utd Robbie Green who made it 0-2, Thame made the game safe when Calvin Evans had his shot deflected to make it 0-3.
