OMTs win BP at first outing
OMT; London 3NW;
The OMT 1st XV opened their 2018-19 campaign in convincing style against recently relegated Tabard. As expected, the game was fast-paced and aggressive from the start. An early three points from the boot of Alex Douch put OMT ahead, which was immediately followed up, minutes later, with a superb five-pointer by Naca Kinikinilau. The OMT defence remained resilient, notable mentions to Matt Gandy and Naty De Richemont keeping Tabard at bay. OMT continued to fire on all cylinders with some fantastic breaks by Joe Isaacs and Gov Kandola. Three minutes before the end of the first half, Alex Douch and Joe Little linked up majestically to set up a try in the corner. Tabard started the second half at real pace, with an early try in the corner. Despite this, they struggled to comeback, as the OMT team defensively out muscled them for the rest of the half. An outstanding finish in the corner by substitute Felix Sharman put OMT 20-5 ahead, followed by Naca Kinikinilau who went over the white wash to secure his first hat trick of the season. The match finished 27-5 to OMT, with huge positives to take from the boys as they move to top of the league. Onwards and upwards for next week against Harrow.
