Optimum Ladies Netball

Emma and Clare took the training session last Wednesday and selected the squads for 2012/13 Season.

As most of you may be aware Haley Manning has decided to retire from playing netball! This is something that Haley has been considering for the last 3/4 for seasons and feels it is time to hang up her bib!! This is a big blow for Optimum1 and she will be sadly missed on court.

Also, Optimum2 has had a similar blow with Sally Tremlett deciding that she will have a rest for a season! I, certainly will miss being able to shout "jump Sally" when watching a 2nd team game and will have to find someone else to shout at!!

Making up Optimum2 squad will be a mixture of returning/new players as follows:-

1. Mandy Smart - Having taken a season out for a Legal qualification, Mandy returns to Optimum2 to make her mark in the D at both ends of the court, as GS and hopefully GK!!

2. Deb Gibbons - due to work committments Deb was unable to commit towards the end of the season for Optimum1! But has now changed jobs so will make her mark in Defence and Attack for Optimum2 in 2012/13

3. Sam Banks - Sam has returned to training after intense physio on her back and will no doubt make an impact in the D as GS/GA for Optimum2.

4. Kristina Foster - Krissy has returned to training and will hopefully make an appearance on court in the coming season.

5. New comer Deb Emery "Dickie" Started training with us at the end of 2011/12 season and has certainly fitted in at Summer League and will hopefully be returning to training after injuring her ankle in a recent Summer League game!

6. Last but by no means least Rachel Haynes (Smithy)) - Due to family committments, Smithy is unable to make training but is available for either team on a Saturday.

Apologies if I have not mentioned you! I have tried my best to mention everyone and I'm sure I have forgotten someone.

DON'T FORGET if you wish to be Captain or Vice Captain for your squad text Nat to let her know.

If you don't want to be that involved let Nat know your choice for Captain/Vice ASAP.
