Supporting Blind Veterans UK

As some of you may be aware, club stalwart Paul Westerman, and part time players, Mark Webster and Myself, are walking 100km in 24 hours in order to raise money for the Blind Veterans UK. Blind Veterans UK do sterling work for those veterans who suffer from visual impairment. I've seen first hand what benefit they provide to members of my own family. A very worthy cause.

Firstly, the money bit. Obviously we would like to raise as much money as we can for the Blind Veterans UK, so any donations are welcomed. The below links are where you can donate to any one of us, all the money ends up in the same location ultimately:-

No donation is too small!

As part of our training, we're all walking a lot of miles. A big part of the training will be undertaking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on Saturday 20th May to which we invite others to.

For those who have never done it, it's 26 miles (unless you take the cheats route) up 3 of Yorkshire's finest mountains/hills, Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. Some of you may have had a go at the 3 peaks a few years ago when Tom Sprott led an expedition, and I'm sure you'll agree it's a good way to keep fitness levels up outside of the season as well as an excellent team-bonding exercise (I still picture Club Chairman, Pete Bradshaw naked under a bin bag on a regular basis). Sadly, we're not as organised as Tom Sprott so no bunk-barn the night before, just make your own way up there.

Let myself, Paul or Mark know if you fancy joining us. It's also not too late to sign up for the 100km if you're so inclined.
