27-year-old Riordan is no stranger to the EvoStik League having played for Ossett Albion, Ossett Town, Stocksbridge Park Steels, North Ferriby United and Bradford Park Avenue in the competition. He put his ‘vision’ for the future to the board and was elected by a unanimous decision.
Injuries have prevented Dominic from playing on a regular basis but he will be registering with the club and will be available in emergencies. Perhaps becoming the EvoStik League’s youngest and only “Player Chairman”?
Retiring Chairman Stephen Hanks said “When I took over as Chairman I always said it was a caretaker’s role until the right person came along. I believe Dominic is that person and I had no hesitation stepping down when he expressed an interest in the position. Despite only being 27 he has a vast experience of football at this level and is extremely level headed. I am confident he will be an asset both to the club and the EvoStik League”
Riordan takes up his position with immediate effect.
