Prescot didn't play good football, but their work-rate more than made up for their lack of skill.
Albion were defending for the majority of the first half and eventually Prescot managed to bundle the ball into the Albion net after 40 minutes.
It was deserved for their running which made them look like the home team and their constant harrying of the Albion players unsettled them so that they seemed unable to string any passes together.
The second half didn't bring any improvement in Albion's play and Prescot kept up their pressure and didn't allow Albion's players any time to settle.
By the time Albion's substitutes were introduced into the game it was too late for them to make much impression. It was only in the last few minutes that any urgency was shown by the Albion players and by then it was too late.
The margin of defeat could have been much greater if Andy McManus hadn't held things together in defence for Albion.
