Ossett Albion 1 - 3 Curzon Ashton

Curzon Ashton created few chances yet took the ones that came along to take all 3 points from this match.

Albion had a good first half and matched Curzon Ashton in all aspects. They had a warning just before the interval when Jody Barford in the Albion goal pulled off a good save from a Curzon shot. Then another Curzon effort clipped the bar with Barford beaten.

The second half was only a few minutes old when Arron Guiry dwelt too long on the ball and his clearance was blocked and Curzon took their first goal easily.

Only a couple of minutes later a push by Tyrone Gay in the area gave a penalty to Curzon which was dispatched well.

Albion then began to exert some pressure and eventually a trip on Marc Thompson in the area gave them a penalty which Adam Hayton stepped up to convert. This could have made the remaining 10 minutes interesting, but another defensive error gifted a third goal to Curzon to make their win secure.

Albion deserved to get something out of the game for their efforts but it was not to be.
