Ossett Albion Reserves 3 - 1 Stalybridge Celtic
Albion Reserves could have won this match by double the score if they had taken their chances. Even so it was a comfortable win for them.
They got the best possible start when a shot was parried by the Stalybridge goalkeeper straight to Matthew Patterson who put a simple header into the net in the 3rd minute.
Albion kept up the pressure and squandered a couple of good chances before Simon Poole doubled their lead in the 16th minute.
So Albion went in at the interval leading by 2 goals.
Stalybridge got a goal back early in the second half before Albion replied in the 52nd minute to re-establish their 2 goal cushion. Alex Ferguson scored their third with a powerful shot across the goalkeeper from the right-hand edge of the penalty area.
Albion created several more chances which they were unable to capitalise on, but in the end it was a comfortable victory for them.
