Albion beat near-neighbours Town 1-0 at home thanks to a goal from Kieran Thompson.

The first half was played at a fast pace with neither side wanting to give anything away in this local “derby” match.
Albion had the better chances two of which fell to Gibril Bojang but he was unable to find a finish. It was the pace of Connor Bower which created the first when he rounded the goalkeeper and put the ball into the centre only for Bojang to squander the chance,
The second half was a scrappy affair to begin with but then, just short of the hour mark, Albion made the break-through. A free-kick wide on the left was taken by Rob Bordman and lofted to the far post where Kieran Thompson was lurking to nod the ball home.
For the next 15 minutes Albion kept the game tight and pressured the Town players but then they began to drop deeper allowing the visitors to attack.
The last 10 minutes saw Town produce some of their best football of the match and Brett Souter, in the Albion goal, was called upon to make some good saves.
