Date: Saturday 24th March 2012
Time: 10:00
Ossett Cricket pre-season get together of players, coaches and club officials.
In addition chairman Bob Schofield has signed the club up with 'NatWest CricketForce'. This basically means that we carry out the pre-season clean up: painting - rolling the wicket - clearing up littered and rubbish strewn areas - painting the dressing room etc and we get free T-shirts and £500 in return for all that industry.
Work Programme:
Paint side screens, Sweep and roll net wickets, Take down old nets, Roll Square, Dismantle concrete seats by bowling green, Paint concrete seats, Mow grass around boundary line, Check scorebox and Umpires area. If you are accompanied by a paint brush it will help.
In return and it just so happens that it dovetails nicely with Club Day, NatWest want a decent level of publicity.
Therefore John Sadler will also be on hand on the 24th of March and NatWest who will be down in the morning will take photographs, along with hopefully a Wakefield Express reporter/photographer in attendance to cover the event.
Lunch Arrangements: 12'ish Free bacon or sausage sandwiches and nibbles for the workers.
Followed by the arrival of Joe Ellis around lunchtime to enable players to try on kit: Playing shirts, Hoodies, Caps in readiness for placing an order.
All in all making Ossett Cricket Club Day a cut above the rest as pre-season events go in 2012.
Timings: Starts at 10am ends at 3pm
A really good turnout would be appreciated, i.e. as many as possible come down to the ground even if only for a couple of hours.
Attending: 10 people are attending

Is this the presentation? Or just like a talk?
Harry, it's a mixed bag of tidying up the ground, talking tactics, new players getting to know their team mates, setting the Ossett Cricket agenda and strategy for the future etc. Bob's away for further info, but I know First team captain Mike Edwards is very much involved in it. I'll forward my reply to them both, so one or t'other of them can add any extra description of the event, they think fit.
Cheers Mac
Thanks!
Do we known how long it will go on during the day as I will unfortunately be playing football!
Starts at 10am mate. Lunch at 12ish and kit fitting around lunch time. Full details will be sorted ASAP. Just do as much as you can!

If you could bring along a paint brush it will help. During the morning Nat West and hopefully Wakefield Express will be down so we need to impress. Lunchtime at 12'ish Free bacon or sausage sandwiches and nibbles for workers, Joe Ellis will be down at lunchtime for players to try on kit Playing shirts, Hoodies, Caps in readiness for placing order. Looking forward to as many as possible coming down even if it is only for couple of hours
Unfortunately I will not be able to make it on the 24th. I will be at footy training in the morning and I am out with friends for my birthday in the afternoon. Hope it all goes well. Sorry to miss it.
No problem Sean thanks for the good wishes, hope you are looking forward to the season.
Well done and thanks to everyone today. Over 30 people attended for at least part of the day including seniors, juniors, parents, coaches and other family members! That is a fantastic effort as bodes well for the upcoming season and beyond! Photos will be uploaded onto here, the facebook page and twitter this weekend.
