Ossett 1st XI beat Wrenthorpe at Bradford Road

In an enthralling game of small margins, Wrenthorpe batted first to post a robust total of 246 for the loss of 8 wickets in the 50 overs. Patel and Glynn caught on 72 and 67 respectively were the stand out batsmen for the home side, with Holstein contributing a steady 23.
Pick of the Ossett bowlers were Usman with a sparkling 5 for 41 and Malone a tidy 3 for 61.
In the second innings Ossett’s lower and middle order all scored runs with the spread probably making the difference in the final analysis. But undoubtedly the solid platform set up by Umarji , run out on 69 and Raje lbw for 53 helped, but was generously supplemented by Anderson’s opener of 30, Malone’s crisp 36 batting at number five, followed by a short sharp 22 from Whitehurst. The winning runs coming with a mere four balls to spare.
