The second round of the Crowther Cup got underway on Sunday the 8th of May, with Ossett posting a colossal 321-7 (C Hosley 120) away at Hoylandswaine, the home side eventually bowed out with a fairly anonymous 170 runs on the board, leaving Ossett with their biggest win for some time.

Ossett won by 151 runs.

1st XI:

Unfortunately, the 1st Xl failed to emulate the Second team amd beat Treeton at Queens Terrace in the Heavy Woollen Cup second round, despite establishing a substantial target at 208 for 8.

Top scorers: Richard Whitehurst 40, Raheel Ahmed 40 and Shabhir Rashid 34.

This leaves the team still without a win in all competitions.

However, Ossett’s bowlers failed to make an impression as Treeton strolled to victory on 209-2 with S Cunningham 78 not out, G Davis 60 and S Drury 42 not out.

This leaves the First team still without a win in all competitions, not helped by the cancellation of the Windhill fixture on Saturday due to their withdrawal from the league. However, we wish them better luck next time out.
