And the left back is on the hunt for goals!

we have trained hard as always and have focused on what we believe we need to improve on to go on another winning run
- Ash Jackson

Signed in the summer from Evo-Stik First Division South side, Leek Town, left back Ashley Jackson has made an impressive start to his career at Ingfield, hitting the net six times in 30 appearances and part of a defence that has kept an impressive nine clean sheets to date.

Jackson is no stranger to hitting the net, having being top scorer for Goole with nine strike three seasons ago.

The clean sheets however, give him almost as much satisfaction saying “it’s just about as close as you can get to scoring a goal. Not quite the same but I think it reflects well on all the back four and goalkeeper and shows how organised we are. Hopefully we can add to this as the season goes on.

Jackson admits he doesn’t know too much about Saturday’s opponents Colne, they’re playing in the Evo-Stik for the first time Jackson has not faced them before. However, his preparation for the game will not change. “I will be getting a good early night on Friday and have to work Saturday morning. I will be finished around 11am so straight home and a quick meal of scrambled egg on toast, grab my kit and straight off”

“Some mornings can be a massive blur and I will switch on and start thinking about the game as I head to the ground”

“December was fantastic for the club as we went from victory to victory, but we knew that would never happen until the season end. After dropping points in the last two games we will continue to prepare right, we have trained hard as always and have focused on what we believe we need to improve on to go on another winning run”.
